Featured Projects : Telkonet

Telkonet is a clean energy company that helps clients decrease operating expenses, reduce carbon footprints and improve sustainability with green technology. In order to improve their own operations, they wanted to expand their office space and relocate employees from two other locations, consolidating into one corporate headquarters. Expanding into the adjacent tenant space created the opportunity to access more natural light and design a more open and collaborative work environment. The goal was to create a refreshed and modern work space that would support employee attraction and retention.

The design team worked within the existing finish palette of dark wood tones, clean whites and a brand inspired lime green to create continuity between the existing and new spaces. While existing private offices were maintained, Teknion District with height adjustable worksurfaces was integrated throughout the open office, supporting wellness with sit-stand options in individual workspaces. Panel heights were lowered and benching configurations were utilized to add to the open and modern appeal. Studio TK Infinito lounge pieces were used throughout to create a variety of collaboration spaces with a “resimercial” feel.

The new priorities of the design were flexibility and functionality. Company leadership wanted to maximize the use of the real estate on a daily basis. One additional glass walled conference room was added and several areas maintained higher panel heights for privacy, but the remainder of the office encourages employees to collaborate and use the space for a variety of work functions. This refreshed workspace is highly collaborative and employee-focused supporting a variety of work styles and meeting needs.
